Cheerleading teams have many advantages that other sports simply don’t enjoy. I guess it goes without saying, especially in high school, but I would tell you that the same is true for those in college. Let me explain and give you a real life example here if I may.

In those days I had a car wash, boat and plane business, mobile car wash and we used the equipment to clean cars at those fundraisers. Eventually, we got pretty good at organizing them and making a decent amount of money.
Still, we were never able to earn as much as the cheerleading squad for obvious reasons. First, they could sell us 3:1 on pre-sale car wash fundraiser tickets and on the day of the event they would pull cars off the street en masse with a simple “Cheerleader Car Wash” sign and a couple of girls on the corner. in bathing suits. Hey, that’s not fair, but that’s life. Yes, a definite plus indeed. It goes without saying that if you’re a parent cheerleader or student advisor and your team is in need of money, a fundraiser of this type is fairly easy to pull off and well-suited for the summer months.
The other day, I was talking to a mom at Starbucks who had a daughter who made the high school cheerleading squad for the next calendar year. Her sister was a cheerleader a few years ago at that same school and the mom remembered how expensive cheer camp was, the competitions, the uniforms and the travel expenses, and the mom really didn’t want to go through that again, nor does she want to. being assigned chores at “another bloody bake sale”, I think those were his exact words.
