WoW Raid Strategies – How To Kill General Vezax In 10 – Man Ulduar

Knowing the best WoW raid strategies will help you successfully enter or lead any raid in WoW. That can be a pretty difficult thing to do if you’re going to start teaching yourself. So it’s very important to get outside help, like a WoW raid guide or something. However, I decided to share with everyone the WoW raid strategies I use to defeat General Vezax in the 10 man Ulduar instance. The information will be very concise, so it won’t take up too much space to put it all.

As the raid engages General Vezax, he will cast a raid-wide debuff called Aura of Despair. This prevents any and all normal forms of mana regeneration. This involves spells like life touches and even mana recovery talents and also potions and flasks. The only exceptions are Protection Paladins’ Spirit Attunement, Retribution Paladin’s Sage’s Judgments, Enhanced Shaman’s Shamanic Rage, and Viper’s Hunter Aspect.

The only way for the other classes to regenerate their mana is to kill the gas clouds that randomly spawn around Vezax. Once destroyed, they drop a green puddle on the ground, granting a stacking buff that regenerates mana at the cost of HP when a member stands inside of them. These effects double every 2 seconds, so you can only get about 5-6 stacks before the damage gets out of hand. This is Shadow damage, so an aura or Shadow resistance buff will help mitigate it. Apart from this, there are other spells that your raids need to take into account.

shadow clash

A large, slow-moving shadow projectile that is fired randomly at a raid member, dealing heavy damage to them and everyone in a short radius around where it lands, knocking them back. After he lands, a large black puddle will appear. When members remain inside, they will gain a 100% bonus to cast speed and spell damage and a 70% reduction in mana cost, as well as a 70% reduction on all heals done. That means the DPS caster needs to stay inside the puddle while healers don’t. The leader should know these WoW raid strategies to pass them on to others if necessary.

mark of the faceless

Another random targeted spell cast by Vezax that drains HP from the target member and any other members around them within a 10 yard radius. The damage that the actual spell does is quite low, but the healing that Vezax receives is very high, so it should be avoided at all times. Everyone should stay as spread out as possible and be ready to move when someone is affected by this spell.

searing flames

This can be detected by the large spinning graphical effects around it when the spell is cast. If this spell is not interrupted, all raid members will take a large amount of fire damage and also receive a 75% armor reduction debuff. This can be avoided by having one or two raid members that can reliably interrupt this. So you can see how some good WoW raid strategies come in handy.

surge of darkness

Another of the WoW raid strategies that some need to master. Vezax can cast this every 60 seconds and gain 100% bonus melee damage while suffering a 50% slow movement speed. This can be mitigated by equipping it and taking advantage of the slow movement speed or by using an Icebound Fortitude ability from Death Knights. Druids can do the same via Bark Skin and the high amount of health.

WoW raid strategies for this encounter would be a healthy balance between melee and caster DPS and knowing how to conserve mana so healers can keep tanks up. This all takes a lot of practice to achieve, which is why it’s very important to know other WoW raid strategies like this one.
