The reason you smoke and help to quit smoking

There are so many different types of smokers out there. So you might think that there must be many different ways to help you quit smoking. Some people tell me that they smoke because it relaxes them. Some say they smoke because they are bored, some say they smoke out of habit. But none of these reasons is the real reason you started smoking in the first place.

The reason smokers start smoking is because they have an instinctive need to fit in. They need to be part of the group. This is part of our primary programming. You have no control over that. Either you follow what your programming is or you will feel an intense gut feeling that something is wrong. You are so wired into these instincts that you really have no way of controlling your actions. Unless you learn what its purpose is and how to bypass the process altogether.

You can probably remember what was going on during your first cigarette. You were probably a teenager. Well, if you’ve been around teenagers lately, you know that age can be considered a form of mental illness. Jokes aside, it’s an era of many physical changes that affect our mental chemistry. So we really don’t quite know what’s going on. There are many risks involved and a feeling of immortality and invincibility.

So now we combine that with other things that might be going on around you when you were a teenager and we have an idea of what was going on at the time. Because it’s the combination of your instincts coming together in a unique way at a special moment that makes it right for you to do something you really knew was wrong. At that age you could have been out of school. Disconnected from the familiarity of family and home. And you were stretching your wings looking to fly.

Some friends around you were probably smoking. Maybe they did it because someone told them it was cool, or something “cool”. Maybe you had to sleep through the night and needed something to stay awake and a friend suggested a cigarette. Beneath all of that was an intense desire to fit in. Being included in a group of friendly and caring people. You were overcome by your genetic predisposition to be part of the herd and by wanting to grow.

If you are aware of your life right now, you probably see that the reasons you started smoking in the first place are not true today. There is no longer a reason to smoke so you can fit in. I would probably agree, it is more true that he would be a better fit as a non-smoker. When you’re ready to quit, there are several ways to do it. You can visit a speech therapist. You can do some type of biofeedback with behavior management and change therapy. And you can visit with a hypnosis hypnotist to stop smoking. You just have to ask yourself the right question and answer with the determination to quit smoking at least equal to the determination you had to start smoking.
