Scientology Beliefs – What Are They?

There has been a lot of news about the Church of Scientology, their beliefs and what they do. Many of these are fabricated or sensationalized. So I have made it my goal to explain the actual beliefs of Scientology. The fact is that when you talk to a Scientologist, you find out almost immediately that what has been said about them is not true. In person, Scientologists actually come off as selfless, kind, and respectable.

In reality, many of them are volunteers and work long hours for the benefit of others. Now why do people work so hard for others and how are there MILLIONS of them? Since Scientology is only in its 60s, there must be a reason why they have such a strong following. The reason is that it is based on logic and not pure faith.

Scientology’s modern and functional approach to understanding life has had a sincere appeal to the common man. It is based on knowledge and tools that he can use in his daily life. It helps a man answer basic questions like “How do I get my wife to be faithful to me?” “How can I live a happy life?”

Now, speaking of Scientology’s beliefs, there are simple things to say: Scientology believes that The man is basically good.. That man is fighting for the highest survival for himself and his fellow men. That he without a doubt he is immortal and is not limited to a single life. But rather, his life transcends the universe you can see around you..

This is something that is not so much a new idea, but rather an TRUE which has been inculcated by many religions since time immemorial. If you examine life, and you see that it has only been man who has created things like the pyramids in Egypt and the skyscrapers in New York City. It takes something greater than an animal to do this kind of thing.

What separates Man from a mother creature is the spirit known in Scientology as a “thetan”. The purpose of giving the spirit a name is because, in Scientology, it is recognized that you ARE a spirit, and not have a spirit. So you wouldn’t say “My thetan”, you would just say: “I”. (So it has made itself a term, so people don’t get into the same idea as “my soul”)

These are some basic things about Scientology that are true and you can find more information at http://www.scientology.org the official site of The Church of Scientology
