Paint protective film – what is it?

Everything you buy, you seem to want to keep safe from harm. Whether it’s screen protectors and cases for your phone or covers for your laptop, you want to make sure it remains scratch and damage free while it can survive. So why, then, don’t people care the same about their cars? I mean sure, you wouldn’t give a damn if the car you’re driving is just an old lemon, but there are more new cars on the road now more than ever (FCAI 2017). Its composition is formed by a polyurethane film, not too far from the material used in armored glass. The use of protective paint film is to ensure that your vehicle suffers little or no damage. I mean, it won’t protect you if another car hits you at 60 km / h. That job is reserved for your seat belt and air bags. However, it will stop those stubborn scratches, stone chips, and even minor abrasions. It even protects your paint job from pollutants and contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, dirt, dust, and other unfavorable things that could damage your paint. Paint protection film can save you a lot of money in the long run. While there are more affordable alternatives, namely ceramic coating, they do not provide the protection against scratches and rock chips. Paint protection film does.

Paint protection film is also a great way to preserve the color of your vehicle, especially if it is a custom color! It’s a preferred product for classic cars, you know, the ones that were “made like before.” These cars are often high-end classics, with discontinued paint finishes, so it’s no wonder they want paint protection.
