Fresh Ideas for a Work Triangle in the Kitchen

A suitable kitchen work triangle depends a lot on the size and shape of your kitchen. You can choose classic work triangle or modern work triangle depending on your kitchen requirement and design. You may have multiple appliances in your kitchen, but their proper arrangement and placement is very essential. A good work triangle helps create a proper layout where you can prepare and serve your meals.

If you have a large kitchen, you can even add a dining table where meals can be served to your guests. In this article, my main focus would be to tell you about several things to keep in mind when setting up a working triangle.

1. Shape of your kitchen
Its design depends a lot on the shape and size of your kitchen. These days, L-shaped, G-shaped, U-shaped and kitchen layouts are very important. The different designs have their own advantages and disadvantages. The L-shaped layout is very appropriate for large kitchens because in this layout you can also include a dining table and an island between the counter space. The galley kitchen is suitable for small kitchens because it has two parallel walls where your appliances, cabinets, and countertops are arranged.

2. Arrangement of articles
A properly organized kitchen can really impress all your guests and visitors. A work triangle is crucial for the kitchen, but the proper arrangement of essential appliances is even more important. A sink is often placed under the window because it makes the kitchen look bright and attractive. An ideal place for your refrigerator is next to the door. A kitchen island is a great option because it really gives you extra space.

3. Kitchen areas
Kitchen work center and work zones are very essential to divide the kitchen properly. Different zones are assigned according to your needs are requirements.

  • The kitchen center includes all your kitchen appliances, stove and utensils.
  • The cleaning center mainly includes your sink and dishwasher.
  • Your Snack Center includes your microwave, toaster, coffee maker, drinks and the refrigerator area.
  • The baking center includes your cooking tray, microwave, and the mixer.
  • The eating area includes your dining area where meals are served. Your plates, condiments, and napkins are also stored in this area.
  • The food preparation center is a unit where you do all of your food preparation. Even the sink or cleaning area is included in this area only.

Well, these are some very important things to keep in mind when designing your kitchen.
