Cleaning a Coach bag? Let me show you how to revamp your designer bags!

Bus cleaner? NO! I’ve found two common household ingredients that work wonders for cleaning a Coach handbag: Palmolive liquid dish soap and baking soda! (mix in equal parts)

Here is a list of everything you need:

  • Palmolive Dishwasher Soap
  • baking soda
  • extra large white towel to cover the work area
  • 1 white cleaning cloth
  • 1 medium/large white drying towel
  • hair dryer

(all towels must be white to avoid any color transfer or bleeding during the cleaning process)

Cleaning a Coach bag is basically simple when you have a proven formula you can trust. The second most valuable key is: very hot water. Since you will be working with your hands, always test the temperature in a small area before immersing your hand. Be sure to continue adding or replacing your water to keep it as hot as possible. This is VITAL to the success of your cleaning.

I work with a microwave-safe mug so I can reheat my water as it cools. It also saves time when I need to heat a whole new batch of clean water.

Always start with a tidy surface by placing an extra large white towel for added protection. You won’t want to do any more work for yourself!

Next, take the small white towel that you want to use to wipe down the dirty areas in your branded bag. Dip a corner of your towel into the hot water and wring out most of the excess. Now rub that wet spot in the half soap and half soda mixture. Just a small dot will suffice. It’s easier to apply another “spot” of cleaner again, if needed, but it’s harder to get the cleaner out of areas that have been too lathered.

Work quickly to ensure that your cleaning cloth stays as warm as possible. Apply light pressure with more of a rubbing technique, then rub. Now you are ready to get a clean white towel and soak up the excess soapy water in your Coach bag. Then follow with a “rinse” in cool warm water and repeat the towel drying process. Be sure to apply fresh hot water several times, as you don’t want to leave any soapy residue behind. Any cleaning solution that does not remove can cause a discolored ring that will show up when it dries. Finally, when you have absorbed as much water as possible from the Coach Bag, dry with the hot air of your hair dryer and admire the dazzling results!
