Two Super Duper Bible Memory Verse Activities for Your Elementary Kids

Wasn’t it wonderful that God made the world so colorful? What is your favorite color? Blue, green, red, purple or chartreuse? You may not know what your favorite color is, but I bet your orange jelly beans your kids know. So why not have fun with colors and God’s Word to help them memorize their Bible verses? Here are 2 great and EASY Bible memorization activities:

1. Foot color After reviewing a Bible verse with your children, test them on their memorization by choosing a color. Everyone in the class wearing that color should stand up and say the verse together. Keep choosing new colors until you are sure everyone knows the verse.

2. Color stomp For this memory verse activity, you will need to prepare a large square of construction paper for each child in the class. Choose many different colors. If you have a large group of children, you may have duplicate colored squares. Now prepare a small square for each chosen color that will go in a bucket or hat. I suggest you laminate all the squares for long time use. You are now ready to play.

Place the large squares in a circle and have a child stand on a square. Now put on some music and have the children walk around the circle. Stop the music at an unspecified time. Children should freeze in the nearest empty square. Now choose a child to reach into the cube of small squares. Whoever is standing on the chosen color should say the Bible verse. Play again and have fun.
