Murdered: Soul Suspect PC Game Review

Murdered: Soul Suspect is an adventure game (yes, that genre you’ve almost forgotten!), And it really comes close to what true fans of the genre would enjoy. Naturally, it can hardly be compared to Syberia or The Longest Journey, but playing this one can give you a couple of hours of fun … if you’re not too picky.

In this game, you play Police Inspector Ronan O’Connor, who is … well, dead.

The plot and the main idea is great. Generally speaking, paying a ghost who can make things happen in the real world, the physical world, is amazing. Especially in an adventure game. The only other thing is that – Hello! – you don’t have like a zombie, like a Resident Evil, like a war, etc. events that happen to you. Whatever enemy you come across and have to “fight” is not actually there to kill you! Yeah, (SPOILER) you can just run away from them … All NPCs are kind of low carb, obviously, as they cover a really small space. Even if you defeat a demon in the same room where another one of them is, the second type will not pay attention to you.

The romantic drama – He has a wife named Julia, who has been the reason for his life changes. Therefore, his death makes you feel quite sad and you go into action with a lot less brains and a lot of aggression. This is also, I suppose, the main reason why we (playing as him) go to the first scene where we end up dead.

My opinion? I like this as much as I can; I mean … many of us need something tragic to happen in a person’s life, just so we can feel them close. I find romance useless for me, but for a game with the scopes and goals set by the producers, it’s obvious that this kind of thing must be there. What I liked (see the second sentence of this paragraph) is that they didn’t get her pregnant or turn him into a crying father figure.

The real drama: Salem is a big witch’s nest and hey, being a tough guy there can’t keep you safe from witchcraft, witch hunts, and everything that happened there in the past. You are even a more suitable victim to an influential enemy than a mere girl would be.

The twists and lines of the plot are finely incorporated into this game and it is easy for you to like it. The only thing you need to know when buying this game is that: it is an old school adventure game with a detective novel feel and lots of cool and relaxed exploration and thinking time zones. This is not Far Cry, not Uncharted, not Resident Evil. However, it is not Aura or Myst either.

The gameplay on the other hand it is really basic and I love it! With the sole exception of the demons you need to eradicate, it’s all a simple first-person point-and-click adventure, but in a 3D world. You have hardly any reason to load up and make mistakes. However, the only problem related to the game is the lack of real puzzles. It looks like it was either too expensive (rather they made a 3D version of a sheriff-like police inspector in all his appeal, including cigarette and smoke … like a ghost) or too difficult for the Airtight team, but … yeah – a real adventure game needs a puzzle or two (at least) before it gets action-packed features.

Just so you know …

A review of the game from a fairly famous gaming website says: “The only way to get rid of Murdered’s really terrifying soul-sucking demons is to get immediately behind them, and the only way to get immediately behind them is to hide in the residue of the individual ghost souls, which are very close together and thus create a kind of teleportation system for Ronan. “

Here is the source of the quote (I would not advise you to click here, but being ethical ask me to link to the source).

Well, this is pretty bad. For a reason, since I already messed it up, you can run away from them. For another reason, you can hide in the walls. If you don’t come within their range of visibility when they’re spinning, you can just step off the wall and “exorcise” them from this world.

However, one thing you should know: once the ritual has not been performed correctly, these chills will follow you through walls and stairs until you are out of reach.
