5 Clever April Fools’ Day Promotions

Promoting your business during the holidays is just another great way to increase your sales. The most recognized holidays are Christmas, New Years, Easter, July 4th, Black Friday as well. However, all celebrations are a good occasion to show what you do and get a sale or two at the end of the day. Here are 5 ways to make a business impact with funny jokes:

1. Send a fun eCard
Choose a great eCard with some funny image or video and send it to your contacts with a funny prank to brighten their day. There is no promotion, offer or anything on the electronic card. Just add your contact details at the end. Make sure the recipient of your electronic card verifies them.

2. Update your Facebook status
You don’t have to think of the most appropriate joke for your status. You can easily write something funny like: Gone with the Wins, and then add below that you wrote it with your toes because your nail polish wasn’t dry enough to write on. The goal is to get a lot of interaction and a lot of comments. You can even write: Clearance sale today only. And then at the end of the day: Ok, today was April Fools’ Day, but since we get so many orders, we’ll just honor the discount on all of them.

3. Send a joke text message to your customers
Look, our clients are so used to us being serious, professional, that it will be a BIG surprise for them to wake up in the morning and read a text message with a joke that will brighten their day from the beginning. But the point is that we go beyond the value of brightening someone’s day and this is an intangible, but very important, part of the customer’s experience with us.

4. Start the April Fools’ Day contest on Twitter
A very nice way to promote your services is to start a Twitter contest for a day. Let’s say: funny quotes or pranks they made. Simply create a hash tag for the event and ask attendees to include it in their posts. From the hash tag: Everyone can contact you as the owner. And because of mentions of the hash tag, a lot of people are exposed to your contest.

5. Make some phone calls –
Alright, by now your day should be off to a great start. Abundant laughter and joy shared with others. Now, it’s time for jokes. Call a couple of people (after the 10th phone call starts to get really fun) from your contact list. And let them know what won’t be available for phones is email today because you’re on vacation in the Bahamas, but if they want you can send them a postcard from there.
